Walk Away From IPV

On March 31st, 2012, we will host the 3rd Annual 5k walk/run “Walk Away from Intimate Partner Violence,” begun by Cal Poly student, Emily Kent as her 2010 senior project. Sigma Omega Nu’s goals for the 3rd annual “Walk Away from Intimate Partner Violence” is to:
· To promote awareness of intimate partner violence and child abuse

· To raise funds for services and housing provided for victims

· To promote good health and care for one’s self

· To bring together the Cal Poly and San Luis Obispo community in a good supportive environment

As Sigma Omega Nu, we wish to help raise awareness as well as raise money for this amazing program. Operating on dwindling federal and state grants and most funds coming from private donations, WSP needs your help more than ever to continue to serve those in need.Sigma Omega Nu is a Latina Interest Sorority from Cal Poly. The purpose of this sorority is to strive for sisterhood, scholastic excellence, self- improvement, Latina awareness, and provide community service on the Cal Poly campus, as well as in our community. Although we are a small organization with 15-20 members, we have dedicated ourselves to maximizing the positive impact we have on our local community.
